Hi, I’m Alise Tilaka. An artist, storyteller, and lover of all things a little odd and magical. I spend much of my time sculpting fictional characters from recycled paper and paperclay. They take time to create, and each one feels like its own little being with a story to tell.
But my creativity doesn’t stop there.
I also work across book layout design, writing, social media, and graphic design. I like exploring different ways to express ideas and moods, it keeps things interesting.
Outside the studio, I share life with my husband and our two daughters. We travel, film our adventures, and try new things – from hot air balloon rides and flying lessons to climbing mountains with a toddler in tow.
These moments feed my imagination just as much as my art.
I’m inspired by strange old objects, myth and folklore, offbeat film characters, nature, and quiet streets in old towns. I love the mix of the eerie, the funny, and the sweet.
This is my little corner of the world. Thanks for visiting!
Let’s celebrate the extraordinary in the everyday and find beauty in the bizarre!
Be yourself. Be weird. Be inspired.
